Good evening my esteemed members of the treasured entrepreneurs association
How has been your day my people??
Hope we all are keeping safe wherever we are considering the civil unrest going on all over the country???
May God heal and bring peace to our land ….
Let’s set the ball rolling for tonight seminar⚽⚽⚽⚽
Commercial crop farming is profitable because people have to eat to survive hence why I conceived and registered TEA FARMS & FOODS SERVICES
Hence why I had to set up a 40 acres of farm land @ ilara remo, ogun state….
Some of the aforementioned crops I am going to exposed you to tonight are crops that are on my farm @ our farm centre in ilara remo, ogun state. …
. Food is at the top of the hierarchy of basic human needs. Therefore, everyone involved in agriculture will always do business.
In this presentation I will explained 12 crops that you should consider planting. The list is not in any particular order. However, the selected crops were considered based on how lucrative and how viable they are. I hope you find this list useful.
1. Cassava farming:
This is one of the best crops that many people earn a lot of income in Nigeria. Cassava farming is one of the most popular farms in Nigeria because it is easy to grow with cassava stems. The time between growing and harvesting cassava is about 8 to 12 months, which is not too long; There is a market ready for the product. You don’t need the best soil to grow. Cassava is the raw material for many food products such as corn, cassava flour used to make bread and cakes and other snacks, and even ethanol.
Cassava is one of the crops on our farmland @ TEA FARMS & FOODS SERVICES….
Cassava occupies almost 10 acres of our farm land….
2. Maize farming(corn):
This is another crop that many Nigerians like. It can be used for many purposes
It’s a very lucrative farm business..
Maize can be grown and harvested just after three months…
The amount of money you generate from maize farming depends on the size or portion of land it is farmed on…
most farmers who grow maize or corn only do so in the rainy season. However, this crop can be produced throughout the year by irrigation.
Commercial maize or corn farming cultivation is highly recommended as it takes about 3 months for the maize/corn to mature….
Maize or corn is another crop we have on TEA FARMS & FOODS SERVICES ..
Maize occupies about 5 acres of our farm land…
.
3. Oil Palm Plantation:
This indeed is a good mine!….
Palm oil, which is the main product of palm oil, has many domestic and industrial applications, making palm oil farming a very profitable business.
The only challenge for this palm oil farming is how long it takes for the oil palm to start germinating after planting, which is about 3 to 4 years, depending on the species. But once you start producing palm oil, you are on your way to FINANCIAL BREAKTHROUGH….
This is a highly lucrative Agribusiness….
4. Rice farming:
This is another gold mine of a crop..
Rice is probably the most eaten food worldwide and even in Nigeria!
Almost every NIGERIAN eat RICE every day..
Every year, Nigeria imports thousands of tons of rice due to the inability of local farmers to reach the huge rice market.
Few people are involved in rice farming in Nigeria.
It is capital intensive and needs a well-irrigated agricultural land. Any entrepreneur man or woman who wish to get started in this agricultural business in Nigeria will have to get access to LIQUIDITY which will translate to a lot of income because the market is huge. After sowing, the rice takes about 4 to 5 months.
With Rice Mills springing up in most part of country and with the ban on importatation of rice
A lot of farmers are really delving into this crop production…
TEA FARMS & FOODS SERVICES is considering delving into the RICE BUSINESS earmaking about 12 acres of our farmland to rice production .
This is because we have a RICE MILL @ imota coming on stream soon with the rice mill closer to us @ ilara remo…..
5. Plantain Plantation:
This is another good and easy crop that you can practice. This is one of my favorites. I have been doing this for some years now
This is one of the crops at TEA FARMS @ Ilara remo…
Its a very and a highly lucrative & profitable business..
it takes about plantain about 10 to 12 months to start producing and to grow to full maturity.. It doesn’t take us long to wait before you pick up the dividend on this agribusiness investment.
Banana is another specie of plantain, both have a ready made market and the off takers are always available to take the proceed from you the moment they are ready for sale…
6. The cultivation of fluted pumpkins (Ugu):
This is another very lucrative agribusiness
It is also a GOLDMINE
It is one of the most eaten vegetables in Nigeria. This crop is very good, as it only takes a month to harvest the pumpkin after planting and you will be able to maintain the harvest for up to 8 months after the first harvest. It can be planted in the backyard, but for mass production a larger plot is needed. It can be planted all year round with proper watering.
This is one of the crops we have @ TEA FARMS & FOODS SERVICES,Ilara remo, ogun state ..
7. Egusi Melon Farming
Egusi soup is one of the most popular soups in Nigeria, but few people know how egusi seeds are produced. Egusi is the seed of a species of wild melon. Many people do not go to the cultivation of melons egusi due to the stress of extracting the seeds of eusi in adulthood. This is one of the reasons why the product is quite expensive in the market. However, if you are determined to make money, you can continue with a profitable crop. It takes about 4 to 5 months after planting to harvest the egusi…..
8. Breeding potatoes:
This is another profitable business. Growing potatoes is much easier than the yam farm, because it is not necessary to set up long plots as in the case of the yam farm.
Potato yield is also very good. Between 4 and 5 months after planting, the potatoes are ready for harvest. I have practiced this type of farming and I can prove it. In many cases, in some cases you would have planted potatoes in a field, after harvesting the following year when ripe, some potatoes would harvest, even without replanting.
Potato is loved by most people, which makes it easier to market the product.
This is another crop we are also considering to plant by the next farm circle @ TEA FARMS …
9. Bean cultivation:
This is the biggest source of food protein for Nigerians as other sources of protein like egg and meat can be expensive for the poor. Beans are a staple food for many Nigerians, making harvesting profitable. The beans take about 2 to 3 months to ripen after planting.
10. Tomatoes:
This is another GOLD MINE of Agribusiness..
Almost every NIGERIANS eat tomatoes every day .
The demand for this product is very high. Tomatoes are raw for domestic use for the preparation of stews, sauces and soups and for industrial use in the production of canned tomatoes.
Many tomato growers in Nigeria mostly experience a shortage of produce from local farmers, which causes them to import from outside the Republic of Nigeria and the Republic of Benin. This shows that if you create your own tomato farm, you can be a supplier for both domestic and industrial buyers. It takes about 3 or 4 months to start harvesting tomatoes after planting.
11. Yam Farming:
Many Nigerians who eat it are eager to eat fried, boiled, porridge or as a beaten yam(iyan) with soup. In addition to domestic buyers, the yam flour industries also buy yam for their production. The period between cultivation and harvest is about 4 to 5 months.
Yam was also one of the crops I planted in my farm in the last farm cycle(TEA FARMS) but I didn’t plant it at this particular farm season
This is because I want to allow the soil gain some nutrient because we I hope to do yam again in the next farming season .
12. Pineapple cultivation:
This is another profitable farm business, It is needed internally as fruit factories and fruit juices. After planting, the pineapples take about 2 to 3 years to harvest. Pine cones can bear fruit about 3 times during their life, after which they must be replanted.
This is a good farm that can provide you with a good income. It is one thing to gain knowledge. The most important thing, however, it is to put the knowledge into practice. Work to start one or more of these farms. You can start on a small scale with a small piece of land just to test the waters. I’ve done it once and still hope to do it again.
This is where I will drop the anchor on tonight seminar…
See you at the top…..
