The state at which things are going in Nigeria now, does not allow anyone to be dependent on working for salary at the end of the month, so many people are being sacked at work after several years in service and at the end of it nothing to fall back on, but in other not to let your own story become like that, you have to provide a back up plan for yourself and become dependent on yourself without the fear of someone coming to sack you out of office one day.
In this article I will be showing you, list of lucrative businesses you can probably start in Nigeria with minimum capital range of 20k – 50k and make reasonable amount of money from it if done properly and well taken care of.
Nigeria as we all know is a well strong Economical country, just that it’s not been properly managed by our government, but never the less people are becoming Millionaires daily from their personal business. Many millionaires you see today in business, I must tell you that they started with small amount of money as beginners and today take a look at them they are the talk of the town, you can also come out from your state of mediocrity and start something now and become a great business man or woman tomorrow, remember the journey of a thousand miles they say begins from a step and also a popular saying that Rome was not built in a day, it only takes your commitment and Focus to get there.
I see SME businesses more comfortable and profitable, I can’t really tell why, but I just like business and also being self-established. Some Nigerians don’t want to take risk of owning a business, but the fact still remain that my type of people who wants to setup something for themselves are more than those who want to work under someone till their old age. So if you’re someone like me who loves to have his/her own business then this article is just for you. Just read on carefully as I share some business you can start in Nigeria with as low as #20k – #50k
The secret to everything said up there has to do with what you can do and how determined you can be, cause if you’re not determined on pushing forward then all this things might not be useful to you, some people will finish reading this post and still can’t find any businesses they can start, so it all depends on which one can you do and make it in life.
LIST OF BUSINESSES YOU CAN START IN NIGERIA WITH CAPITAL OF 20K – 50K:
1. SELLING OF DVD/CD BUSINESS:
Selling of DVD plate is a lucrative business here in Nigeria, people purchase music, movies, wrestling on daily basis. If you really don’t like Nigeria movies I’m very sure you will like that of American, India, Chinese and Philippines there are varieties for you to buy? This is a money splitting business but many people do think there’s not much money there. Let’s carefully do the calculations now, a movie is been sold for #150 now, the question is do you know how much those guys do purchase it at Alaba market at retailers price in case you don’t know their wholesale price is around #25 – #50 naira each.
Now those guys sells those movies for #150 Naira to people, definitely making the sum of #125 on every CD they sell. Let’s now assume he was able to sell for 40 people a day that is #125 Ă— 40= #5000 and his capital is #1000 meaning, his making the sum of 5k daily now calculate it in a month. #150,000. But don’t forget that the higher the number of customers you’re having equals to the profit you will be making, that’s why most of this guys stays beside the road to sell.
2. PLANTAIN CHIPS BUSINESS:
Plantain chips business is also a lucrative business, you can actually venture into and then you will make lots of profit from it, people consume plantain chips daily and it also a chips that is common to everyone. You can start this business as a company by packaging it in an Advance way and putting label on it, just as the ones you see in Lagos and any other places. If you are doing it the right way and it’s well branded you will definitely get retailers getting from you to resell. You can start yours and start selling to those guys selling along express and people selling at shop. You can start this business with minimum of 50k. 3. SHAWARMA/BARBECUE BUSINESS:
This is relatively another type of business you can start with little capital and start making some cool cash out of it on daily basis. Shawarma and Barbecue are being consumed daily. Some people even prefer eating it while drinking in a beer parlor and also loves buying for their family. The right spot for this business is at the front of a beer parlor or club. Just meet with their management and speak well with them am sure they can give you a space to do that. You can start this business with as low as 20k, you might not necessarily get a container at start, just find a long table and an umbrella and there you are good to go. ( Check YouTube videos on how to make barbecue and sharwarm if you really don’t know how to do it and then also practice at home before stepping out to do it.)
4. SELLING OF BOTTLED DRINKS/ BOTTLED WATER:
Selling of bottled water and drinks is also a lucrative business you can start with, cause those two items are consumed on daily basis, if you’re lucky to be in a popullated state or city like Lagos then you can consider this business. You can start this business with just 10k or even less but the only requirement is that you will need to get a space in a busy area like, commercial Bus terminal, buy a big cooler, an umbrella, iced block, a small signboard to write buy minerals and cold water here. You can even as well include recharger card and gala to it.
5. MINI IMPORTATION BUSINESS:
Nigeria that I know largely depends on importation. It is a shocking thing that Nigeria import matches and tooth picks, since we are not ready to produce them, well we cant do without importing them. There are so many items out there to import that will interest Nigerians. A Nigerian importer once said and I quote ” importation business is lucrative and every Nigerian who knows how to go about it is sure of being a millionaire in nearest future” according to him he also noted that this business can be stared with #20k, #30k, #40k, #50k and be sure of making #150,000 monthly, if importing the right products. All you just need to do is go to Alibaba and search for a cheap item that doesn’t cost much ranging between $2 – $3 and import about 10 piece of it. Bluetooth speakers, Hiding camera and lots more are there and this are best for mini importation. An once they arrive you can go online to sell them or meet with retailers to sell at wholesales price.
6. ICED BLOCK PRODUCTION BUSINESS:
Nigeria Electricity condition is getting worst than ever and people need cold drinks and water, you can as well be of help and make money with this. Like you already have a freezer you can start the production of iced blocks and sell to those selling drinks and water. The only important thing this business requires is a freezer and a good Generator that’s if you already have them ready.
7. DOWNLOADING OF MUSIC/GAMES TO PHONE:
The very first question to ask is if you have a Laptop? And if yes! This is the right time to make good use of it. People wants to have the latest music videos or audios on their phones outside downloading. You can just get a good Table an umbrella and your laptop download movies, games and many more.
8. RECHARGE CARD DISTRIBUTION BUSINESS:
Even with no capital you can start this business that’s if you have a bulk seller that trusts you. This business is the act of buying and distributing of recharge cards from producers to retailers, you are the middle man here, you can as well start this business with 50k that’s if you don’t have a recharge card producer that can give you to supply and pay back after supply.
9. PHONE ACCESSORIES BUSINESS:
Phones Accessories like charger, desktop charger, earphones, pouch, phone case. e.t.c
People do have issues with there phone Accessories on regular basis mostly charger, this business is very lucrative if you are in a busy environment. Starting this business is not costly, you can start this business with minimum of 20k. You must have purchased a charger or earphone before, this is to tell you that people are buying it Everyday due to the improper making of chargers this days, people run into problems with their Accessories which makes them want to buy a new one, you can partner with anyone who’s into phone repair and start selling at his shop with little or no money and you go to the market to get your accessories and start selling.
10. SME DATA BUSINESS:
SME data business is also a lucrative business to go into I’m very sure you might have come across some signboards saying buy ur MTN data and some other networks at a very cheaper rate, all necessary requirements for this business is just to go online, search for companies you can register with to get data at a cheaper rate from and then fund your wallet and start selling, you can start this business with 5k and look for customers on ur WhatsApp, your relatives and friends and start selling data to.
