7 REASONS WHY EDUCATED PEOPLE ARE POOR….

Education is defined in so many ways but I will define education as

“The act or process of impacting or acquiring general knowledge, developing the powers of reasoning and judgement”

Education is a trust and light….

Education is the basic right of all citizens or human because an educated, knowledge or inform society will definitely be a developed society…..

65% of Nigerians are educated as at today….

Despite this percentage of educated Nigerian, the country is riddled with a high rate of POVERTY….

About 112 million Nigerians are living in extreme POVERTY…

About 5 million Nigerians faces HUNGER every blessed day…

There are 29500 MILLIONAIRES in NIGERIA…

Why are so many people poor even after having many degrees? Below are 7 Reasons why many educated people are poor in Nigeria and the world at large.

1. How to be rich is not taught in school

Think about this, each time education is mentioned, the first thing people think about is school and whenever school is thought of, people assume school should teach children everything necessary about life. The opposite is the truth. Take for instance, you can be a medical doctor and really know a lot about medicine or be a lawyer and know everything about the law profession, Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean you know anything about money. In fact, you can be an accountant who presses calculators to calculate millions of dollars or Naira, again that doesn’t mean you know anything about money.

The reason why most professionals don’t know anything about money is because school wasn’t designed to give education about money and it doesn’t matter how long, how many years or how many degrees you get in a former educational system, the fact is, you may know nothing about MONEY. And because you know nothing about money, you may be dead broke even with five degrees. What’s the way out? Get financial education by reading good books or listening to good audio training about money.

2.Most people stop educating themselves immediately after the university:

What exactly did you think education is? For so may people in the world, education that degree they go and at the Harvard for so many others education is their certificates and degrees. Now get it; education isn’t what you get in the classroom. Education is what you get everyday of your life. A truly educated man is that man who learns every day. Education is like food and as necessary as water. If you wake up everyday to take oxygen to eat and to drink then we should get education everyday.

Now, this is not the case for so many people because immediately after their first degree, they don’t learn anything meaningful anymore as they believe that they already educated. Because these people don’t take time to learn new things, they are not likely to come with knowledge necessary for them to create wealth. What’s the way out? Start seeing education as you see water. Water isn’t what you drink one time in a life time. It is what you drink everyday of your life.

3. The more time you spend in school the more you’re likely to love job:

let’s face it, because school was designed to train on how to become an employee, the more time you spend on the four walls the more you are likely to love jobs. You know jobs don’t give you leverage to create wealth, the more you love jobs, the more you are likely to be Poor. In a simple math, loving job simply means you are going to work the rest days of your life with a single brain and two hands. Nobody creates wealth that way. Truly wealthy people are people who could work with 10, 20 brains or more brains and unfortunately, no job allows you to do that. So, because you can’t work with 100 hands or 50 brains, you don’t have the leverage that other people like entrepreneurs have in creating wealth.

What’s the way out? While everyone cannot be an entrepreneur, everyone can get a financial education, learn and master the art of investing, so even if you are an employee, you can learn about money and investing, invest properly and be financially independent.

4. Many of the people that think they are educated are actually arrogant:

So many people because they have degrees tend to believe these other guys who drop out of college or those that didn’t finish high school do not know anything. In this case they are not humble enough to listen or learn. What most arrogant people don’t know is that young people, no matter the level of their former education are the ones who know where the world is going and for few of the young people who really know what hey are doing know so much about many things that older generations do not know. Look at the internet for instance, so many of the people who are 50 years above don’t really understand how the internet work or how they can use it while on the other hand an average 17 year old guy know about the internet and many of them are building wealth.

Do not be unnecessarily arrogant because you have degrees, be humble and learn from the younger generations.

5.So many highly paid people buy a lot of liabilities:

A guy who earns N100k a month thinks he is rich. They buy expensive phones, cars, wristwatches and other liabilities that are not fetching them money. The amount of money you earn does not matter as much as the amount you invest into your future.

6. Many highly educated people do lose their job.

In today’s economy, it doesn’t matter how educated you are or how many degrees you have, anything can happen, then you lose your job. Now this is not to say people don’t lose their businesses. Every now and then people lose their businesses too but when you compare the possibility of losing your business to the possibility of losing a job then you going to see the difference.  The job depends on the decision of another man while an entrepreneur is in control of his job. While unexpected disaster and situation could cause an entrepreneur to lose his business, most times these guys built their businesses from the scratch, they know how to start all over again. While the other guy who has a job has only the option of going out there and look for another job which is in this case he may not get a job.

7. The more time you spend in the classroom the more you are likely to live your life alone:

many people who are able to build substantial wealth in the world are people who have mastered how to collaborate, how to build a team, how to get people of different skills together and achieve a single goal. School was designed to teach you the direct opposite of that. In school you are trained to do your assignments alone, your tests and exams alone while in the real world, you need collaboration, you need to get people together to work on a certain goal for you to build wealth.

This is where I will drop the gauntlet and anchor for tonight seminar…..
