I want to specially recognize our vissioner and leader on this group, Mr. Asuni for a wonderful job well done.
Everyone is also recognized for our patience in following his lead
Today we shall be looking at the topic : ways to start a business without a kobo or a dime.
One of the most common financial advice you have repeatedly heard is to start your own business.
So many people have given you reasons to become an entrepreneur but for some reasons, you’ve never considered it.
The common excuse people usually give is lack of capital.
If you fall in this category, it might surprise you to know that there are actually ways to start a business with little or no money.
It is no secret that the main aim of businesses is to earn more money.
As such, one of the ways to measure business success is the monetary gains
So, is it really true that you can start a business comfortably without a kobo or dime??
Who has tried that here before???
Alright, I will highlight some of the ways to start a business without money……..
1. Adjust your business model to demand fewer needs
If you can start your business as a sole employee please do so, pending when you are able to raise enough money to employ other professionals.
If having an office space is not vital to getting your business up and running, then work from home.
It saves you the cost of getting and maintaining an office space.
In addition, try to make your business more service-oriented because this kind of business requires little or no financial investment; all you really need are your skills and you can immediately get started providing these services.
2. Get friends and family to help
Tell your friends, family and even past colleagues about your business and get them to help spread word.
this can serve as free marketing and publicity.
Encourage as many of them as possible to share your posts about your business on their social media profiles, and to also introduce your brand to their professional contacts.
3. Avoid unnecessary expenses
Considering you are trying to start a business without money, you need to be as frugal as possible.
This means you have to be simple and try to leverage on things you can get for free.
Leverage on your relationships with people and try to get as much as you can for free, at least until you are able to start making some extra revenue to afford better for your business.
Being frugal should not include compromising the quality of services rendered.
4. Ensure your payment policy is well thought out
This is the problem a lot of startups face; they don’t have a good payment policy.
We mix up businesses with relationship and people begins to pay at their conveniences..
As a result, people take advantage of this weakness to either delay payments or avoid paying for the services all together.
Payment policies for every business no matter how small should be well thought out and well spelt out.
Avoid basing your payment policy on what you think your customers want or will be comfortable with, base it on what is going to make your business operate successfully.
This is because, after all said and done, it’s not your payment policy that will keep people coming back for more, it’s the quality of your service.
Having said all these, let’s take few samples of such businesses you can make up your mind to begin immediately even without a dime.
- Content provider.
Are you a writer, editor, photographer, artist or video maker? If you have any of these skills, you can start a business with zero kobo.
Sites like Fiverr offers opportunities for people with skills mentioned above to book gigs from businesses and provide content for them.
- Repair/Skill based services.
If you have a specific skill, you really don’t need to wait looking for capital to start a business to make money. You could use your skilled labor as the main revenue driver for your business.
A lot of people today use their skill to make money and reinvest
- Consulting
Think about the industry you are in. Think about how much knowledge, experience and skill you’ve gained over the years in that industry.
You can make money from your expertise by offering expert advice to up and coming professionals, businesses and start-ups.
- Tutoring
Another business you can do which doesn’t require any capital is tutoring. If you have the ability to teach people and they find it easy to understand you, then you should give it a try.
We have what is called home lesson network.
You can employ others to even take these lessons and you pay them.
You just have to get the clients and network.
That’s already a company which you’re the MD/CEO and you’re paying your staff.
- Social media influencer
We had a seminar some days ago on being a social media influencer.
Almost all of us are on Facebook, twitter, Instagram and so on….
Don’t waste you data just chatting
You can earn money while resting and doing what you normally do daily
If you’re social media savvy, then you should consider becoming a social media influencer.
Every business and brand today is going online to grow their business and they can’t do it alone without the help of someone who knows about social media platforms well.
If you have a good online presence, you really don’t need any capital to start up. With just a phone or laptop and good internet connection, you can become a social media influence
Then, earn more money.
Don’t let money discourage you to start something,
check out the businesses you can start without capital.
Start something today.
Just make up your mind.
