We All Know That Every Product Has Its Own Raw Material And In This Case,Cassava Is The Major Raw Material.

Cassava Been The Major Raw Material For This Product Most Times If Not Always Determine The Location Of The Production Factory

Therefore The Consideration Of The Location Of This Raw Material Has To Be Viewed When Thinking Of Investing Into This Business

There Are Ways Or Steps To Follow In The Production And Processing Of A Fine Crispy Cassava Flour

Peeling

This Is The First Step After Harvesting The Cassava From The Farm

This Stage Can Be Done In Two Ways

(1)Manually (2)Mechanically

👉🏻 Manually Can Be Done By Employing Peelers(Mostly Women In The Community)

They Peel The Cassava To A Fine Level Without Wasting A Bunch Of The Whole Of The Whole Lot

👉🏻 Peeling Can Also Be Done Mechanically By Using The Peeling Machine Fabricated By Brilliant Engineers Right Here In Nigeria

This Is The Third Step In The Processing Of Garri

Grating Has To Be Done Mechanically Has We Cannot Just Imagine The Whole Chunk Of Time It Would Consume If We Are To Consider Manual Grinding Either With Mortar( Odo As It Is Called In The Yoruba Parlance)

Or Through Any Other Primitive Measures

Normally Cassava Grinding Machines Are Used To Made It Into A Fine Level From The Factory By A Fabricator To Give I A Fine Moisture Mass Of Grinded Cassava

While Grinding We Should Make Sure That We Are Not Pressing The Cassava Into The Teeth To Avoid Stalking And To Avoid Putting The Hand Into The Outlet End To Drag Out The Moisture Because This Might Caused Unwanted Incident Or Accident(Risk Management)

At The Outlet To The Grater,Porous polythene Bags Should Be Made Ready To Pack The Grated CassavaIn Small Content Like (20kg-25kg)

After These Cassava Have Been Grated And Packed

It Has To Be Left In The Sack For The Next Stage

👉🏻 Fermentation

The Packed Grated Cassava Has To Be Left In The Sack And Placed On A Fermentation Rack For At Least 4 Hours,30 Hours For Garri Egba And 72 Hours For Garri Ijebu

Take Note That The Sacks Must Not Be Stacked/Placed On Each Other

👉🏻 Pressing/Dewatering

At This Stage,The Fermented Cassava Should Be Taken Into The Hydraulic Press Machine Which Doesnt Make Use Of Electricity

However Some Hydraulic Machines Use Electricity Now

The Hydraulic a Machine Make Use Of Planks Or Huge Rings To Guide The Porous Sacks Of Cassava Depending On The Type You Want To Use

Pressure Is Aplied/Accerted On The Sacks To Sieve out The Water Inside Them

The Bags Are Left Inside The Machine For At Least 4 Hours To Get The Water Out

After Processing In The Hydraulic Press Machine

The Next Thing Is To The Sack Out For Sieving

👉🏻 Sieving

Sieving Can Be Done In Two Ways

It Can Also Be Done In Either Mechanically Or Manually

The Mechanical Method Would Make Use Of A Machine That Is Fabricated With A Vibrator So As To Release The Fine Mass Through The Thin Face Of The Sieve

Whereas Manual Effort Have To Be Applied In The Manual Sieve To Get The Fine Mass And The Chaff Is Disposed Off

This Also Like The Sieving And Peeling Can Either Be Done Manually Or Mechanically

The Manual Frying Is Done By Women Or Men Who Are Specifically Skilled In Doing So

While The Mechanical Is Done With A Fabricated Frying Machine

The Manual Frying Is Done By These Professionally Skilled Labour Spreading The Flakes Here And There In The Frying Pan Or Tray

But If It Is The Mechanical Fryer,There Is A Rod In The Machine That Controls And Regulate The Mass So That It Wouldnt Get Burnt

After Frying The Next Thing To Do Is Letting The Flakes Cool Off Before Packaging
